These early 20th century kettle hook hangers were used over the fire to hold cooking vessels. The Mingei (Folk Arts and Crafts) movement was a modern craft movement to help preserve and raise standards of artisanal craft production. These Jizai-Gake, kettle hangers are a perfect example of form and function together creating art. These pieces are sculptural and stand alone in the beauty of their form, carving and patinated wood.
