A mobile/hanging sculpture consisting of twelve antique Guatemalan Majolica Incensarios. The incensario was used in Guatemalan religious brotherhoods called Cofradias, to hold and burn incense to honor saints. The cage like structure was to keep the fire from extinguising and is often accompanied by guard animals, called fire guards, that keep unwanted spirits out. Each of the twelve incense burners are unique and feature different animals and design. A beautiful collection of traditional Antigua style Majolica and a real piece of Folk Art and history.
