Beautifully crafted pair of Chinese Qing dynasty elm chairs with traces of old black paint. Mortise and tenon construction, wooden nails. All edges are rounded and soft, showing signs of use for more than 100 years, with a smooth, natural antique patina. Both chair backs have a slightly different carved symbol. Surprisingly comfortable to sit in; completely sturdy and functional. Priced and sold as a pair.
